Bandits Obstruct Street With Construction Barrel, Then Rob Drivers: Police

CHICAGO — Police cautioned residents after a pair of robberies targeted drivers in Fuller Park.

In the two incidents, at least three robbers obstructed a street with a construction barrel, police said in a statement.

When the drivers got out of their vehicle to move the barrel, the robbers battered the drivers and demanded their property, police said. 

The most recent incident happened Sunday at 6 p.m., in the 300 block of West 51st Street. The first incident happened Thursday at 6:15 p.m. in the 400 block of West 51st Street.

The three to four robbers are described as black men between 17 and 23 years old,  5-foot-11 and 6-foot-3 and 180 to 220 pounds, police said.
