CHICAGO — After a rainy, cold and all-around gloomy weekend, sunshine and temperatures reaching the mid-60s could be on the way, the National Weather Service says.

A high of 65 degrees on Wednesday and 61 on Thursday is expected,  according to weather service meteorologist Amy Seeley. Those warm days will be ushered in by Monday's high of 57 and Tuesday's temp of 55 before cooling off Friday, with a predicted high of 44 degrees.

The one slight drawback? A few light rain showers, Seeley said.

Starting Monday night and lingering around for the remainder of the work week is the possibility of light drizzle, but "nothing heavy," she said.

After a mid-March teasing of spring, with temps reaching as high as the 70s, only to be followed by weeks of snow, this week should be a welcome change.
