CHICAGO — Two people are facing charges after a series of armed robberies in Logan Square and Irving Park, police said in a statement.

Alfredo Medina, 19, and Vanessa Marchan, 19, both of the 2400 block of North Austin Avenue, are facing multiple charges of armed robbery after police identified them as the people who robbed several businesses in February and March, police said in a statement.

Medina is facing eight counts of armed robbery while Marchan faces four counts, police said.

Medina held up the stores with a gun or knife while Marchan drove the getaway car during the robberies, police said.

Medina and Marchan are set to appear in bond court Friday.
