Burglaries in Lakeview, Uptown, North Center Prompt Police Warnings

CHICAGO — Police are warning North Side businesses about a string of overnight burglaries in March.

During two burglaries, a thief broke into the businesses by shattering the front door or window. In one incident, the thief entered by breaking through a wall, police said.

The first incident occurred overnight on March 11 in the 4100 block of North Clarendon Avenue in Uptown. The second burglary occurred overnight on March 20 in the 4100 block of North Lincoln Avenue in North Center, police said.

The most recent incident happened overnight on March 23 in the 800 block of West Sheridan Avenue in Lakeview, police said.

There is no description of the thief. Anyone with information on the incidents should call detectives at (312) 744-8263.
