Lakeview Store Robberies Prompt Police Alert

CHICAGO — Police are warning businesses and residents near Lakeview about several robberies that have occurred at stores around the neighborhood this month.

The first incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. March 11 in the 3700 block of North Broadway. During the incident, two black men wearing black hooded jackets and black face masks robbed the store and its customers with a chrome handgun, police said.

One of the men was 5-foot-9-inches tall and the other was 6 foot tall, police said.

The second incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. Friday in the 4100 block of North Clark Street. The third robbery occurred around 8:15 a.m. Sunday, police said.

During these incidents, the thieves were said to be between ages 20-30 and around 160 pounds. They were the same height as in the first incident, police said.

One of the thieves wore a white jacket with red designs and the other wore a dark jacket. They wore scarves over their faces during the later robberies, police said.
