LAKEVIEW — Ever wondered how long it would take a monkey to write Shakespeare?

The Organic Theater Company will attempt to answer the question with "Words, Words Words," one of six comedies in "All in the Timing," opening Friday for Stage 773's Spring One Act Festival.

"All in the Timing" is a collection of one-act plays written by David Ives. The festival will include all six plays performed by six different theater companies. The series will run every Friday at 8:15 p.m. through April 17 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave.

Stage 773 itself will contribute with "The Philadelphia," in which a man is trapped in an alternate reality where he will get what he wants by asking for the opposite. The show opens with Hobo Junction Productions' "Sure Thing," the story of a cafe cute-meet which is reset each time the man or woman says the wrong thing.

After "Words, Words, Words," (Re)Discover Theatre will present "The Universal Language," a love story involving a scam artist and his naïve client. The Ruckus will perform the comedic musical vignette "Phillip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread," before Red Theater Chicago closes the show with "Variations on the Death of Trotsky."

"All in the Timing" follows Stage 773's Chekov One Act Festival last year.

"The companies produced hilarious adaptations of Anton Chekov's most popular one act comedies for the festival, and we're looking forward to building on that momentum for another successful event this spring," said Stage 773 creative director Brian Posen.

Tickets are $18 and can be purchased online or by calling (773) 327-5252.
