Armed Robberies Lead to Police Warning in Garfield Park and Near West Side

CHICAGO — Police are cautioning residents after a series of armed robberies in Garfield Park and the Near West Side. 

In the three incidents, the robbers approached the victims and demanded their property while brandishing a handgun, police said in a statement.

The most recent robbery occurred Tuesday at 1 a.m. in the 100 block of North Kedzie Avenue. The other robberies occurred March 14 at 1 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Maypole Avenue, and March 6 at 5:50 a.m. in the 2200 block of West Jackson Boulevard.

The robbers were were described as two black men in the their 20s. The two were seen driving a gray or silver vehicle, police said.
