RIVER NORTH — A rash of burglaries in Downtown condominium towers led to a community alert from police searching for a suspect.

The burglaries were reported Feb. 22 at a high-rise on the 400 block of West Huron Street in River North and March 9 on the 400 block of South Clinton Street in the West Loop, police said.

During the burglaries, the suspect gained entry to the towers then took personal items from unlocked units. Both burglaries occurred around midday, police said.

The suspect is descrbed as a 5'10, 230-pound black man wearing a black leather "Chief Keef" jacket with white lettering spelling "GLO" on the back, and a yellow-and-orange solo cup design on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at (312) 747-8384. Police advise residents to keep doors and windows locked.
