LOGAN SQUARE — The former Milwaukee Avenue Arts Festival has been renamed the Logan Square Arts Festival, which is now taking artist submissions.

The rebranded 2015 festival is set for June 26-28, and I AM Logan Square, 2644 ½ North Milwaukee Ave., is looking for artists to present at the fest’s new location, anchored around the neighborhood square: the Illinois Centennial Monument.

As in past years, the arts component of the festival will include an Art Crawl where local businesses and galleries will host individuals or collaborations between artists in their spaces.

I AM Logan Square and representatives from local galleries will form the selection committee and match artists with participating venues, according to an announcement for the fest. Artists and their gallery partner will be responsible for organizing installation and de-installation of the exhibit.

The Logan Square arts organization is seeking Chicago artists “that have a cohesive body of work in any easily hang-able media.” And it’s a community family event … so keep it appropriate for children and the general population.

Along with the application, artists should submit images for six finished works.

All host locations need to be within Logan Square and artists will keep 100 percent of any sales of their work generated during the festival.

“This provides a great introduction to showing your work and gaining exposure. You will also get your name out there — all artists and businesses will be printed on our art crawl map,” according to an announcement for the fest. “Your work will also be seen by multiple local art galleries and organizations — starting relationships that could lead to future collaborations and shows.”

The festival will also serve as a fundraiser to preserve The Eagle, AKA the Illinois Centennial Monument, located in the heart of Logan Square, according to I AM Logan Square.

Submit your application and images for the Logan Square Arts Festival to Info@IAmLoganSquare.com by May 1 with “LSAF Artist Submission” in the subject line.

Accepted applications will be notified by May 29.
