Two Shot Thursday on South Side, Police Say

CHICAGO — Two people were hospitalized following shootings on the South Side Thursday afternoon.

Most recently, a 28-year-old man was shot in a domestic-related incident just south of Washington Park, according to Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Around 2:50 p.m., the man was wounded in his thigh while in the 6100 block of South Vernon Avenue in Woodlawn. He was taken to St. Bernard's Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Lemmon said.

Further details about the shooting were not available.

Around 12:35 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in his leg by someone in a silver SUV as he walked through the 12300 block of South Vernon Avenue in West Pullman, Lemmon said.

The man was taken to Christ Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Lemmon said.

No one is in custody for the shootings.
