Spring Equinox To Be Full of Beer and Cairo's Riches at Oriental Institute

HYDE PARK — The Oriental Institute is celebrating the ancient holiday of the spring equinox with beers from Great Lakes Brewing Company.

At 5 p.m. March 18, the museum at 1155 E. 58th St. will mark the holiday of renewal and rejuvenation among the 12th century artifacts of the Muslims, Christians and Jews of Cairo, Egypt.

Tickets are $15 and includes a tour of the new exhibit, “A Cosmopolitan City: Muslims, Christians and Jews in Old Cairo,” and live music, hands-on projects, a trivia challenge and drinks from Great Lakes Brewing Company.
