Uptown Known For Vietnamese, Thai, Indian and Pakistani Food

UPTOWN — This may come as no surprise to Uptown residents, but there are a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the neighborhood, according to an analysis of Yelp data.

In fact, there are 4,876 percent more Vietnamese restaurants in Uptown compared to the city as a whole. Tank Noodle at 4953 N. Broadway and Hai Yen Restaurant at 1055 W. Argyle St. are just a couple of beloved options.

Uptown is also known for its Thai, Indian and Pakistani food. There are 522 percent more Thai restaurants and 497 percent more Indian restaurants in Uptown compared to the city as a whole. Pakistani food comes in close third.

In nearby Andersonville, there are 1,036 percent more Korean restaurants compared to the city as a whole. The neighborhood also has a lot of sushi, Asian fusion, Middle Eastern and cafes, according to the data.
