MORGAN PARK — A 24-year-old Morgan Park man was arrested for car burglary after a resident saw him pulling on car door handles and called police, police said.

Jonathan Reynolds was arrested at 2:04 a.m. Thursday and charged with burglary and criminal trespass to vehicle.

In his mugshot, Reynolds is wearing a "Chiraq" t-shirt, the derisive nickname slapped on Chicago in recent years to contrast the city's street violence with Iraq's.

Reynolds was spotted pulling on car door handles in the 11100 block of South Artesian Avenue in Morgan Park, police said. When he set off a car alarm, the car owner called police.

Officers from the Morgan Park Police District who responded followed footprints in the snow and found Reynolds nearby. He tried to run off but was caught in the 11100 block of South Whipple Street in Mount Greenwood.

Police found Reynolds carrying two GPS units. Owners of the devices were able to identify the devices as their property, police said.

Reynolds is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
