CHICAGO — Police are warning residents near West Lawn to be on the lookout for a man who has approached a teenage girl twice this week.

Police released a photo Tuesday of what is believed to be the car driven by the man, who allegedly man approached the same 16-year-old girl on Monday in the 6600 block of South Springfield Avenue and Tuesday in the 6300 block of South Springfield Avenue.

Police said he told the girl he had been watching her and then offered her a ride. Both incidents occurred between 7:30-7:40 p.m. on those days, police said.

The man is described as Hispanic, around 38 years old and with a light complexion. He was wearing a black knit cap, a dark blue-collared shirt and a black jacket, police said.

The man was driving a black SUV with an Illinois license plate. The SUV is believed to be a Jeep and has a Blackhawks logo on the right back window. A family decal may be on the lower left back window, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call police detectives at (312) 747-8380.
