Woman Killed in Avondale Wreck

CHICAGO A woman died in an Avondale crash early Sunday morning when she lost control of her vehicle, police said.

Around 2:13 a.m. Sunday morning, the 26-year-old woman was driving in the 2800 block of North Pulaski Road when she lost control of her vehicle and drove into oncoming traffic, said Officer Jose Estrada, a police spokseman.

Estrada said the victim suffered a fatal injury as a result of the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. There were no other injuries reported. 

The crash is still currently under investigation by the Major Accidents Investigations Unit, according to Estrada. 

The woman's name was not released Sunday morning.
