CHICAGO — Steam Engine in Boots, The Arkansas Hummingbird and Death to Flying Things might be mistaken for a list of indie band names listed on the Double Door's marquee.
In fact, these are three of the thousands of Cubs players, coaches and team figures detailed on the website Just One Bad Century.
Raised in Jefferson Park, author Rick Kaempfer, 51, tackled the arduous task of writing at least a small biography for every player who donned a Chicago Cubs uniform in the team's 139-year-history — even players that only played a single game.
