CHICAGO — Hello frigid friends. Here are some stories from around the city we're reading today.

FREE STUFF ALERT: You can get free ramen in Wicker Park Wednesday night if you're one of Furious Spoon's first 100 customers.

Ultra Local Geography: Larry Shure's drawings of Chicago's houses, streets and buildings are amazing. This week, he decided to focus on Morse Avenue in Rogers Park.

15 Foods Invented (or Perfected) in Chicago Besides Deep Dish Pizza: Did you know brownies were basically invented in Chicago? Mental Floss rounds up all the glorious foods with Chicago connections. Also: pizza puffs!

Embracing the '80s in Logan Square: The Reader takes us inside a Logan Square couple's home that is SO '80s in a good way.

Rihanna vs. Riot Grrl: Burly DJs Joe Erbentraut and Mar Curran came up with the best idea for a dance party theme ever, and it's happening tonight at The Burlington, 3425 W. Fullerton Ave., in Logan Square:

This is one for you rebel brrrrls out there. In honor of Sleater-Kinney's triumphant return to music (and Chicago) as well as Rihanna's birthday, we're bringing together an unholy marriage of feminist punk (from the likes of Bikini Kill, Le Tigre, L7, Hole, Bratmobile, Poly Styrene, The Raincoats, The Slits, Babes In Toyland and more) and Top 40 for a very special edition of Burly.

We are looking for a riot grrl or Rihanna song without profanity to share and it's a struggle. Sleater-Kinney pulled it off:

It's Really Cold: As editors complain about our frigid walk to the office, reporters in the field are actually dealing with the weather. When anchors at WGN teased their live shot reporter in the Loop this morning about it "not being that cold," she was ready to throw down.

"You have got to be kidding me."

Pretty hilar. We also like the guy who said he's "pretty much" an Eskimo. Watch here:
