CHICAGO— A police officer was among two injured in a car accident in the Loop Thursday night, police said.

At 8:45 p.m., an officer in a squad car was responding to a call with its emergency lights on, in the 0-100 block of North Lower Wacker Drive, when it was struck by a southbound Lincoln sedan, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The officer was taken to Northwestern Hospital for minor injuries, and was in good condition.

The 28-year-old driver of the sedan was also taken to Northwestern Hospital in good condition, and citations for the accident are pending, Pacheco said.
