WRIGLEYVILLE — A live music venue and pizza pub will replace the recently shuttered Flaco’s Tacos near Wrigley Field.

Heating & Cooling, 3530 Clark St., is set to open its doors April 5, the same day as Chicago Cubs’ opening day game against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The pizza pub will offer large slices and thin-crust pizza topped with locally sourced and house-made sauces and toppings. Highlights will include the “Sour Pig,” topped with slow-roasted pulled pork, pickled onion and sour cream, and a “House Slice” featuring sausage, capicola and arugula.

“Without labeling it Chicago-, New York- or Brooklyn-style, it’s simply thin crust pizza done exceptionally well,” developer Carmen Rossi said in a statement.

Other menu items include appetizers and salads and a large selection of canned and draft beers. The venue will host live music shows and include an outdoor patio.

Rossi is partnering with restauranteur Adolfo Garcia on the project. The pair previously worked together at Hubbard Inn. Garcia also developed Pearl Tavern, 180 N. Wacker Drive, which was named the Best Oyster Bar in Chicago.

Heating & Cooling will replace the recently shuttered Flaco’s Tacos Wrigleyville, which closed Jan. 30. The Mexican eatery said it was shutting down the location to prepare for an Edgewater opening in the fall.

“Sadly, we are moving from our space in Wrigleyville at Clark & Eddy in preparation for our opening in Edgewater underneath the tracks at the Granville CTA Red Line stop,” the eatery announced on its Facebook page. "We are very excited on our new venture, and appreciate the support over the last 2 years. Please visit us at our Printers’ Row and Gold Coast/Water Tower locations until then. Hasta la vista!”

In November, the Chicago Transit Board approved a 10-year lease for the Edgewater location, 1116-20 W. Granville Ave., across the street from the main station. The new location is expected to open in the fall.

Prior to Flaco’s Tacos, the 3530 Clark St. location housed The Wild Hare reggae concert venue, which relocated to Lincoln Park in 2012.
