Woman Stabbed to Death in Roseland Saturday Identified

CHICAGO — A woman stabbed to death in Roseland Saturday was identified, officials said.

At 12:09 p.m., police found a 48-year-old woman unresponsive with multiple stab wounds in the 11300 block of South Parnell Avenue, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.

Janice Coleman, of the 11100 block of South Parnell Avenue, was pronounced dead at 12:15 p.m Saturday, officials said. An autopsy result determined Coleman died from multiple stab wounds, and ruled her death a homicide, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said Monday.

No one is in custody, and Area South Detectives are investigating the incident.
