Edgewater Library Hosts '12 Years a Slave' Film Discussion

EDGEWATER — The Edgewater Library plans to host a roundtable discussion of Academy Award Best Picture "12 Years a Slave" from 6-7:30 p.m. at the library, 6000 North Broadway.

The biopic follows a free black man from upstate New York who is abducted and sold into slavery.

Chicago Tribune film critic Michael Phillips and Adam Green, associate professor of American history at the University of Chicago, will join this roundtable to discuss the film's story as a cinematic, literary and historical event.
