LOGAN SQUARE — The sex-positive podcast "Full Disclosure" is leaving Logan Square, but the interview show featuring sex workers, erotic stories and comedy will re-emerge Thursday in Lakeview.

The weekly podcast will record its next live show at 8 p.m. at the Elbo Room, 2871 N. Lincoln Ave., after formerly recording at The Whistler in Logan Square, according to host Eric Barry.

Barry, a writer and comedian, is a recent San Francisco transplant and former male escort, an occupation he discusses openly on his podcast. Full Disclosure is moving from Logan Square due to the nature of his show, he said.

“Management expressed strong distaste to me once the show got rolling,” he said. “While [Whistler owners] support the show, I think we both agree that The Whistler is the type of place people walk into expecting to see a jazz trio, not a discussion" of sex.

The Thursday show will feature dominatrix Missy Rhodes.

“I initially approached the Whistler because I wanted a venue in the heart of Logan Square that had great potential for live performances,” he said. “Logan Square was important because there seems to be a sentiment that anything kink or LGBT related in Chicago has to be relegated to Boystown or Andersonville. The fact is these communities exist everywhere but without much visibility.”

“Logan Square seems to be a neighborhood with great potential to challenge that notion,” he added.

But, for now, the show will continue in Lakeview — joining Rhodes will be comedians the Puterbaugh Sisters, Josh Johnson, and Nick Martin, in addition to audience games, prizes from show sponsor Early to Bed, and a round table discussion led by hosts Eric Barry and Mary Zee.

“We want to help 'unstrange the strange', and thankfully the Elbo Room has been tremendous in allowing us to do so," Barry said. “Maybe in time we'll return the live show to Logan, but for right now, the sex-positive landscape of the neighborhood still seems to be evolving.”

Tickets to the Thursday show are $5 and can be purchased online in advance.
