CHICAGO — A man was rescued after jumping into Lake Michigan in Lincoln Park Sunday morning, police said.

At 3:50 a.m., a man believed to be in his 40s or 50s jumped into Lake Michigan, in the 1600 block of North Lake Shore Drive, during a suicide attempt, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The Chicago Fire Department and the city's Marine Unit arrived at the scene and pulled the man out of the Lake, Pacheco said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Police did not know his condition, but said it had stabilized.
