Blackhawks To Offer Free, One-Hour Hockey Clinics In Mount Greenwood

MOUNT GREENWOOD — Think your child is the next Patrick Kane or Jonathan Toews?

The Chicago Blackhawks are giving kids and parents an opportunity to find out with free youth hockey clinics on Feb. 25 and 28 at Mount Greenwood Park, 3721 W. 111th St.

Children ages 6-12 will be able to participate in the one-hour training sessions on the far Southwest Side.

The first clinic for kids ages 6-9 will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 25. Immediately after this session will be a clinic for children ages 10-12 at 5 p.m.

The second clinic at the Chicago Park District's outdoor ice rink in Mount Greenwood will be held on Feb. 28. Children ages 6-9 will step on the ice at 11 a.m., followed by kids ages 10-12 at noon.

No equipment or prior skating experience is required. Skates, sticks, gloves, shin pads, elbow pads and helmets will all be available for free.
