Man Charged in September Back of the Yards Shooting

CHICAGO — A 37-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges  after police identified him as the man who shot two people in September in Back of the Yards.

Dasyun Catchings was in a domestic-related argument before he shot a 39-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man in the 5400 block of South Justine Street around 1:10 a.m. Sept. 21, police said.

The woman was shot twice in the buttocks and the man was shot three times in the leg, police said.

Catchings, of the 5500 block of South Paulina Street, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery and possession of a controlled substance, police said.

Catchings was expected to appear in bond court Thursday.
