EDGEWATER — Some of the city's top neighborhood chefs plan to celebrate the grand opening of the Peterson Garden Project's teaching kitchen at the Broadway Armory.

The "Fearless Food Kitchen", as it's called, has been hosting cooking classes for the past few months at 5917 N. Broadway.

At the benefit for the kitchen 6-9:30 p.m. Saturday, the chefs will present dishes inspired by the people who taught them to cook.

Each chef — including Amanda Rockman and Erling Wu-Bower of the Gold Coast's Nico Osteria; Chris Pandel and Joe Frillman of Lincoln Park's Balena; Brad Newman and Michael Taormina of Edgewater's Cookies and Carnitas; Patty Neumson of Edgewater’s Herb Restaurant; and Dave and Megan Lincoln Square's Miller of Baker Miller — will share the stories behind the dishes as each is served.

Tickets for the benefit cost $125; group options are available.
