BRIDGEPORT — The nerds have been summoned.

The beer has been brewed.

Level Eater, the fantasy art and music show inspired by role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, is back in Bridgeport for its fifth installment.

The party's opening ceremony takes place 5-10 p.m. Friday at Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St..

The kickoff includes live music, a chance to peruse some gaming-inspired art installations and pours of a new series of beers created as an exclusive collaboration between Three Floyds and Marz Community Brewing

A pair of self-described nerds, Nick Floyd, of Three Floyds, and Ed Marszewski, founder of Marz, are the event's main organizers.

The Dönermen food truck, run by a pair of indie rockers from the band Sybris will be vending its German-inspired sausage and kebab foodstuffs, perfect for soaking up those hearty ales.

After 10 p.m., it's game on.

This year's Level Eater tournament will be an "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Gauntlet"-style game, which is expected to last until the wee hours.

Admission to the party and tournament is $15 and includes a special "Level Eater" brew made by each brewery.
