CHICAGO — Police are warning residents about a string of residential burglaries in Jefferson Park this month.
The burglaries have occurred mostly in the day or early evening, both from Gregory Street to Gunnison Street and from Nagle Avenue to Canfield Avenue, according to a police alert.
In all of the incidents, burglars enter homes through windows or doors and steal electronics, jewelry, cash and other items.
They have occurred in the:
• 5100 block of North Normandy Avenue on Jan. 4 between 5 and 9:30 p.m.;
• 5300 block of North Newland Avenue on Jan. 5 at 3:10 p.m.;
• 7000 block of West Berwyn Avenue on Jan. 16, 17 between 7 p.m. and 9:30 a.m.;
• 5100 block of North Nagle Avenue on Jan. 22 between 4:30 and 9:30 p.m.
Police are urging residents to make sure their doors and windows are locked. Anyone with information should call detectives at 312-744-8263.
