Man Dies After Truck Falls On Him in Marquette Park

CHICAGO — A man died after a vehicle he was working on fell on him Thursday afternoon in Marquette Park, police said.

At 1:17 p.m., the man was killed in the 6600 block of South Homan Avenue, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman. Police said the victim was attempting to fix a Ford truck when it  fell on him.

The man has been identified as Jeffrey Ellis, 48, of the 3400 block of West 66th Place, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Ellis was pronounced dead on the scene at 1:42 p.m., the morgue said.

Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating, police said.
