RIVER NORTH — Travelers have spoken, and The Langham hotel couldn't be happier.

The lodge at 330 N. Wabash Ave. said Wednesday it was named the overall winner in the "Top Hotels in the U.S." category by the 2015 TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards.

The award, based on TripAdvisor.com reviews, commends The Langham for "remarkable service, quality and value," according to a press release.

"I was thrilled to receive such an incredible award and applauded all of my colleagues," Langham Manging Director Robert Schofield said in a statement. "They have truly embraced our dedication to creating the very best hospitality culture for all of our guests through pride, passion and performance."

A luxury hotel, The Langham opened in 2013 in AMA Plaza. Its restaurant, Pavilion, drew attention last year for "The Victoria," a $1,000 ice cream sundae served with a bottle of Dom Perignon and topped with a 24-carat gold leaf and gold dust.

TripAdvisor.com said it is the "largest travel community in the world," with 315 million unique monthly visitors.
