ALBANY PARK — All three candidates running for 39th Ward alderman are set to appear at a forum on Feb. 4.

Incumbent Ald. Margaret Laurino and challengers Joe Laiacona and Robert Murphy will appear at the forum from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Albany Park Police District Community Room, 4650 N. Pulaski Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Got a question you'd like to ask the candidates? Email it to 39thwardforum@gmail.com by Jan. 31. The forum's organizers will review submissions and select those to be asked.

Laurino is running for re-election to an office she's held since 1994. She was appointed to the position by then-Mayor Richard M. Daley to replace her father, Anthony Laurino.

Laiacona is a resident of Albany Park and retired educator, having taught computer programming at Columbia College for more than 20 years.

Murphy, an architect and past president of the Forest Glen Community Club, has been an active member of the Fair Allocation in Runways Coalition, which has protested a shift in O'Hare airplane traffic.

The forum is a joint effort of Albany Park Neighbors, Hollywood-North Park Community Association, Old Irving Park Association and North Mayfair Improvement Association.

Under a new map of ward boundaries, the 39th Ward encompasses all or portions of Albany Park, North Park, Hollywood Park, Mayfair, Sauganash, Edgebrook, Old Edgebrook, Gladstone Park, Indian Woods and Forest Glen.

Chicago's municipal election is set for Feb. 24.
