CHICAGO — Parts of the city should see some snowfall Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning — but only up to 1½ inches, according to the National Weather Service.
Beginning Tuesday evening, there will be snowfall over a 8-12 hour period, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Casey Sullivan.
Sullivan said the North Side may get up to a half an inch of snow while the South Side may get up to an inch of snow.
But the snow may not stick, as freezing rain is also on the forecast, Sullivan said.
"The snow might be wet, especially if it mixes with the drizzle," he said.
This week expect high temperatures in the lower to upper 30s, Sullivan said, and low temperatures in the mid to upper 20s.
Sullivan said while there's a chance of more snow on Sunday night, "it doesn't look like it would be a big snowstorm" either.
In Chicago, the average high for January is 31 degrees, while the average low is 16.5 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
