One Killed, Two Wounded in Sunday Shootings

CHICAGO — One person was killed and two people were wounded in separate shootings Sunday afternoon, police said.

The fatal shooting took place on the Near West Side in the 2100 block of West Warren Boulevard about 12:20 p.m., said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman. The victim, 22, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later died, police said.

The man was identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Shawn Holloway, of the 300 block of West Walnut Street. The Medical Examiner's Office said Holloway was 21.

Police could not say where on his body the man was shot, nor the circumstances leading to the shooting.

At 12:27 p.m., in the 1400 block of East 68th Street in Grand Crossing, a man was shot three times, she said.

The man, 21, was shot in the neck, elbow and buttocks after a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots. He was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, she said.

No one is in custody, and Area South detectives are investigating.

At about 1:45 p.m., in the 2600 block of West 63rd Street, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks, police said.

He was standing outside when a black vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, police said. The boy was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
