Business Robberies in Garfield RIdge, Clearing Lead to Police Warning

CLEARING — Police have issued a community alert after a series of business robberies in the Garfield Ridge and Clearing neighborhoods.

According to the alert, an armed man is walking into restaurants and demanding money. The incidents usually take place in the evening or overnight hours. They include: 

  • Jan. 1 in the 6400 block of West 63rd Street
  • Jan. 7 in the 6400 block of West 63rd Street
  • Jan. 13 in the 5400 block of South Harlem Avenue
  • Jan. 13 in the 4700 block of South Harlem Avenue

The gunman is described as a white male.

In the wake of the robberies, police are reminding residents and business owners to report suspicious activity.
