South Side Shootings Leave One Man Dead, Two Wounded

CHICAGO — One man was killed and two men were wounded in shootings on the South Side Friday afternoon.

About 2 p.m., two men took themselves to Provident Hospital after being shot in the 4100 block of South Princeton Avenue, police said.

The men had gang ties, authorities said.

About an hour later, a man was shot in his upper body and leg in the 300 block of East 47th Street, police said. The man was hospitalized in critical condition, and later died, police said.

The victim was identified as David Drayton, of the 6400 block of South Harvard Avenue. He was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 3:44 p.m.
