LINCOLN PARK — The Tie Bar pop-up shop in Lincoln Park will be staying open indefinitely due to the unexpected success of the store.

The shop, which features skinny ties, neckties, bow ties and socks all for around $15, opened at 918 W. Armitage Ave. in late October with the intent of staying open through the holidays.

"The reality of its success was a huge factor in wanting to stay," said Michael Alter, CEO of The Tie Bar. "The Lincoln Park neighborhood and shopper fits perfectly with The Tie Bar."

The pop-up, which opened in the former Thread Lounge, was supposed to close Jan. 4. It will now stay open until further notice.

The Lincoln Park storefront is the company's only brick-and-mortar location.

Alter said for now it is an "extended" stay, but added "we will see what the future brings."

"We are a Chicago-based brand and we're proud of it," he said. "We aren't looking to move. We believe the people and talent in the Chicago area very well match with our brand."

The Tie Bar was founded in Naperville about 10 years ago and opened its headquarters in Chicago in May.
