1 Dead, 2 Injured in Separate Daytime Shootings Wednesday

CHICAGO— One man is dead and two others are injured in separate South Side shootings Wednesday, police said.

In the most recently reporting shooting, two men were shot, one fatally in South Shore, police said.

At 2:19 p.m., police arrived to the scene in the 2100 block of East 79th Street, where they found a 20-year-old shot in his leg, and one man, whose age was unavailable, dead, police said.

The deceased was identified as Drequan Archie, 20, of the 1300 block of East 93rd Street. He was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No other information was available.

In Washington Heights at 1:10 p.m., a man was shot multiple times in the 10500 block of South Aberdeen Street, said Officer Michael Carroll, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.

The man, whose age was not available, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition.

No one is in custody, and police are investigating.
