LINCOLN PARK — The experts of craft beer will be assembling at Whole Foods in Lincoln Park Thursday for an evening of tasting, talks and fundraising.

The Craft Beer Symposium will include tastings from more than 25 breweries while raising money for Chicago House.

The free event set will also include music by the gypsy swing band Chanson Du Chat.

There will be a 15-minute speaking series by beer experts including David Rider, head brewmaster for MillerCoors on "Myths and Magic of Beer through the Ages;" Ben Saller, brewmaster of Atlas Brewing Company on "Making the Transition from Home Brewing to Commercial Brewing;" Grant Pauly, founder and master brewer for 3 Sheeps Brewing Co. on "Beer Deconstructed;" and "Seasonal Beer Styles: Winter & Gose," by Ian McCarten of Anderson Valley Brewing Company.

A representative from Revolution Brewing will present a talk on "Pairing Food and Beer."

A number of breweries have donated items for an auction including rare beers from Firestone Walker, a silk-screened poster from Arcade Brewing, a Begyle Brewery gift basket and more.

All silent auction items will benefit Chicago House.

Whole Foods is suggesting anyone who attends brings a non-perishable food item for the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

The event will be held from 5-8 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Whole Foods Market, 1550 N. Kingsbury St.
