HYDE PARK — The Oriental Institute will host a Dec. 28 screening of a documentary on saving the ancient temples of Egypt from a dam project.

The museum at 1155 E. 58th St. will show “Nubia ’64: Saving the Temples of Ancient Egypt” at 2 p.m.

The documentary by Robert Genot shows how Egyptian monuments were moved from their homes of hundreds of years in 1964 to clear the way for the Aswan dam project that boosted irrigation along 600 miles of the Nile River.

The movie is free and open to the public and the museum’s galleries will be open after the screening.
