Chi City Sports Opens Wicker Shop, Sells Funny Chicago Team Gear

WICKER PARK — An online apparel shop that sets up a kiosk in Wrigleyville during baseball season and offers humorous designs inspired by Chicago sports teams has opened a permanent store in Wicker Park.

Chi City Sports, 2151 W. Division St., sells Chicago Blackhawks shirts such a K.A.N.E, "Keeping the Cup in Chicago," a spoof on the anti-drug DARE movement and a Blackhawks and Rolling Stones mash-up.

The "I'll Be Stoned for Christmas" T-shirt features an altered Chicago Blackhawks logo with the Rolling Stones' iconic tongue, while "Madhouse Kitty" depicts a kitten that looks like Hello Kitty with war paint on its face and holding a hockey stick.

In addition to T-Shirts, sweatshirts and accessories, the shop also sells kitsch items like Chicago Bears salt and pepper shakers shaped like sports jerseys and Chicago Cubs Santa hats.
