Ukrainian Village Apartments Targeted by Burglars, Police Say

CHICAGO — Police are warning Ukrainian Village residents after a rash of home burglaries this month.

The burglars make their way into multi-unit buildings and take property from apartments and basements, police said in a community alert.

The incidents occurred in the:

• 2300 block of West Cortez Street between Nov. 30 and Dec. 1;

• 900 block of North Honore Street on Dec. 2 during daytime hours;

• 900 block of North Hoyne Avenue on Dec. 4 during evening hours;

• 1800 block of West Haddon Avenue on Dec. 5 during daytime hours;

• 2300 block of West Rice Street on Dec. 8 during daytime hours.

Police said residents should keep the perimeters of their homes well lit and keep doors and windows secure.
