Police Officer Injured in Three-Car Crash on Lake Shore Drive

CHICAGO — A police officer was injured in a three-car crash on Lake Shore drive early Friday.

Around 2:55 a.m., two cars headed northbound on Lake Shore Drive struck each other before striking a squad car parked on Lake Shore Drive, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The accident happened on the Drive near Diversey in Lakeview, Estrada said.

An officer was taken to Northwestern Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was listed in stable condition, Estrada said.

One driver was ticketed for failing to reduce speed, Estrada said.

No other injuries were reported.
