CHICAGO — Two people were killed and two others injured in an early morning car wreck Sunday in Logan Square, police said.

Police said the crash happened about 3:30 a.m. when a Chevy Tahoe, driven by a 40-year-old man, sideswiped another vehicle in the 1600 block of West Webster Avenue.

The driver then struck a parked car and a tree in the 1800 block of West Webster Avenue. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, Greer said. The crash took place in the North Branch industrial corridor just west of the Chicago River.

The driver was identified as Anthony James, 37, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. According to the autopsy report, James, whose address was unknown, died from multiple injuries sustained in the accident.

Three passengers were taken to Stroger Hospital and Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition, Greer said. One of those passengers, 37-year-old Lajada Jackson, died, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

Jackson, whose address was unknown, was pronounced dead at Masonic at 5:48 a.m., the Medical Examiner's Office said.
