CHICAGO— Any history or transit enthusiasts on your holiday shopping list? If so, the CTA might be able to help you out.
To celebrate more than a century of transit service, the Chicago Transit Authority is launching a brand new Heritage Collection featuring classic Chicago transit logos on items, including messenger bags, cellphone cases and coffee mugs.
The products have the logos of previous transit companies, including Chicago Surface Lines and Chicago Rapid Transit that shaped the current transit system. Each piece will include a brief historical narrative telling the item's significance to that era.
Along with logos from former companies, the collection will also feature the Chicago Transit Authority logo from 1948.
