BRIDGEPORT — Meeting Santa for the first time always generates nerves and a sense of uneasiness. For 2-year-old Zoey, the meeting went better than expected.

Initially hesitant, Zoey battled her uneasiness before settling down. No tears, no whining, she didn't even let out a bark. All in all, a successful meeting between dog and Santa.

Bark N Bites, a dog supply shop in Bridgeport, teamed up with Fetch Portraits Sunday to give pet owners a chance to have a professional portrait of their beloved pets and Santa.

"For some pet owners, their dogs are family members, especially if they don't have children," said Laura Fratto, owner of Bark N Bites.

This is the second time Fetch Portraits and Bark N Bites have teamed up for a pop-up boutique photo session in Bridgeport. On Sunday, Fratto had 13 appointments and two drop-ins.

"We had a positive response from our clients after our Halloween fundraising session for A-Dog Day's rescue that we reached out to Fetch Portraits again," Fratto said. "They do such a great job."

Fetch Portrait photographer and owner Jennifer Whaley has been in the business for eight years and emphasized the importance of having affordable, yet great photos for everyone.

"These boutique sessions are a perfect opportunity to get a great shot of their pets," Whaley said.

The $25 photo session included the photo session and one 5x7 copy of their pet with Santa. Throughout the year, Whaley also has other holiday-themed photo shoots including Valentine's Day and Easter.

After missing the Halloween photo session at Bark N Bites, Kasia Varney knew she couldn't miss the opportunity to bring Zoey on Sunday.

"I wanted to have a professional photo of Zoey," said Varney, adding Zoey is like a child. "It's like having a kid take a picture" with Santa.
