CHICAGO — The Cubs are kicking off the holiday season with their annual tree lighting ceremony Thursday outside Wrigley Field.

Cubs fans can join Chairman Tom Ricketts and Hall of Fame pitcher Fergie Jenkins during the tree lighting on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. The night will include cookies, hot chocolate and photos with Santa. The ceremony will take place by the Cubs Store at the northwest corner of Clark and Addison.

As part of the ceremony, the Cubs are also hosting a holiday toy drive through Dec. 4. Fans and neighbors are invited to bring new, unwrapped toys to the Cubs Store from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The toy drive donations will benefit Lawrence Hall Youth Services.

The Cubs and Wrigley Field are 95 percent owned by a trust established for the benefit of the family of Joe Ricketts, owner and CEO of DNAinfo.com. Joe Ricketts has no direct involvement in the management of the iconic team.
