CHICAGO — An attempted murder-suicide at a Downtown department store was one of four killings across the city Friday, including three in four hours Friday night. At least five other people were wounded by gunfire.

The most recent fatal shooting happened in Little Village around 11 p.m. Friday. The man, whose exact age is unknown, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Earlier around 8:30 p.m., a man shot his girlfriend, injuring her, and then fatally shot himself at Nordstorm, a crowded Downtown department store.

About an hour earlier, a man was fatally shot in Brainerd.

Around 3:30 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was killed and a 14-year-old boy was injured in a shooting in Marquette Park.

• The most recent non-fatal shooting happened around 1:10 a.m. Saturday in the 1100 block of West 77th Street in Auburn Gresham, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman. 

A 28-year-old man was standing on the street when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said. 

He was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a gunshot wound in his left leg where he is in stable condition, Pacheco said.

Police said the man is a documented gang member.

• Around 3:30 p.m. Friday, a 21-year-old man was shot in South Austin.

The man observed a group of men fighting in the 5600 block of West Madison Street when he heard shots and felt pain, Pacheco said.

He took himself to West Suburban Hospital with a gunshot wound in his chest. He was later moved to Stroger Hospital where he is listed in serious condition, Pacheco said.

Police said the shooting may have been gang-related, as the victim is a documented gang member.
