Things You Can Do in Lincoln Park and Old Town This Weekend

Friday

Flying Fox Animal Show at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, noon-1 p.m.

Let the Flying Fox Animal Show dispel old rumors and superstitions about bats. Learn where they live, what they eat and why humans and bats need each other. The show is free with museum admission.

John Caponera at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 & 10:30 p.m.

John Caponera is a Chicago native who has been seen on HBO, Comedy Central and a host of other TV shows. Tickets to the 21-and-over show are $25 with the purchase of two food or drink items.

Saturday

Green Metropolis Holiday Fair at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

The Nature Museum partnered with the Green Parents Network to create a fun day of holiday shopping with local fair trade businesses. The fair is free with museum admission.

Allah-Las at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 10 p.m.

CHIRP radio presents Allah Las, a band born in a California basement about 7 years ago. Tasha Miyaka will also perform at the the 21-and-over show. Tickets are $15.

Sunday

Pat McGann at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m.

In 2007, Pat McGann made some bold moves, escaping the packing business to become a comedian. By 2010 he was creating and hosting the Emmy-nominated Television Show "The Chicago Stand Up Project." Tickets to the 21-and-over show are $25 with the purchase of two food or drink items.

Creation Corner at Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Head to the Nature Museum for the monthly "make and take" project. All materials are provided and the projects can be done on a drop-by basis. Sunday's project is a jar terrarium. It costs $10.
