Ferguson Protestors Arrested in Downtown Chicago

CHICAGO — Three people were arrested Downtown on Wednesday as they protested a Missouri grand jury's decision not to indict the white police officer who killed an unarmed black 18-year-old in Ferguson, Mo.

According to police, the trio was among 25 people who were protesting near State and Jackson around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Richard Newburger, 57, of the 2300 block of North Spaulding Avenue in Logan Square, was charged with felony aggravated battery to a police officer, police said.

Nora Twain, 63, of the 3100 block of West Logan Boulevard in Logan Square, was charged with misdemeanor obstruction of traffic and resisting a police officer, police said.

Deirdre Dietrichson, 63, of the 3400 block of South Martin Luther King Drive in Bronzeville, was charged with misdemeanor obstruction of traffic, police said.
