CHICAGO — A 50-year-old man shot in his Back of the Yards home was among four people wounded by gunfire across the city Tuesday.

Around 10:50 p.m., the man was in a home in the 2100 block of West Garfield Boulevard when shots were fired outside and a bullet came through a second-floor window and struck him in his head, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Pacheco said.

Two hours earlier, a 25-year-old man was shot in Englewood.

Around 8:50 p.m., the 25-year-old man was standing in the 1300 block of West 71st Street when he was approached from behind by three men and one of them shot the victim in his leg, according to police.

The man drove himself to St. Bernard Hospital before being transferred to Stroger Hospital in stable condition.

No one is in custody for the shootings, Pacheco said.

Earlier Tuesday in Galewood, two people were wounded in separate shootings.
